Joshua Crofton-Macdonald Promoted to Firm Associate

WBRC’s Board of Directors has unanimously approved the promotion of Joshua Crofton-Macdonald, P.E., to Firm Associate. A Structural Engineer, Josh joined WBRC in 2019 and quickly showed himself to be an outstanding team player and emerging leader.

Stephanie Laplant, WBRC’s Chief Operating Officer, announced his promotion at a recent WBRC staff meeting, saying,

“Josh embodies the traits we look for in Associates. He is consistent, innovative, and self-motivated; a problem-solver who exercises good judgment.” She adds that Josh is “humble, smart, and hungry, the three traits of an ideal team player. All of us on the Board are excited to welcome Josh to WBRC’s fantastic team of Associates.”

Joshua Crofton-Macdonald graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He earned an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine and is currently part of UMaine’s Ph.D. program. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Maine, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Florida and is a member of SEAM, the Structural Engineers Association of Maine.

As a Structural Engineer, Josh’s responsibilities involve the assessment, analysis, and design of building structural systems comprised of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber. He also performs fieldwork including field investigation, condition assessment, and load rating and reinforcement of existing structures.

His recent projects at WBRC include the Shawn Walsh Center/Alfond Hockey Arena Renovation at the University of Maine, Brunswick Fire Station, Blueberry Ridge Apartment Complex, and Bangor Humane Society, as well as projects for Hannaford Supermarkets, L.L.Bean, Northern Maine Community College, and the U.S. Postal Service.
