Kristian C. Kowal

AIA, NCARB, CDT

Principal, Architect, Education Studio Director

Kristian Kowal is a WBRC Principal, Education Studio Director, and Project Architect with over 15 years of planning, design, and project management experience.

As Education Studio Director, he leads WBRC’s team of architects, engineers, interior designers, and landscape architects who specialize in serving the needs of colleges, universities, and school districts.

As an Architect and Project Manager, he has engaged a diverse range of work, most recently large-scale academic, research, and cultural buildings. Kristian’s work realizes inventive solutions that turn the very constraints of each project into the design trajectory, exploring opportunistic overlaps between space, program, form, budget and materials.

Kristian earned a Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University (magna cum laude), and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire. He is certified in Construction Documents Technology (CDT). He is a member of the Maine chapter of AIA, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and the Society for College and University Planning.
