Camden National Bank Waterville

Waterville, ME

Location(s): 150 Main Street, Waterville, ME

Client: Camden National Bank

Size: 3,500 SF

Contractor: Landry-French Construction

Camden National Bank called on WBRC’s Commercial Studio team to help create a fresh, versatile new branch in downtown Waterville. The branch serves as the anchor commercial tenant on the ground floor of the Bill & Joan Alfond Main Street Commons, which houses 200 Colby College students on the upper floors.

The WBRC project team worked closely with Camden National Bank’s marketing and operations leadership to create an open floor concept that is crisp, clean, and warm yet modern; tech-friendly while encouraging personal interaction.

The new 3,500 SF branch is highly-visible on the intersection of Main and Temple Streets both day and night, with floor to ceiling glass windows and a 24-hour ATM. One of over 60 Camden National locations across the State of Maine, Camden National Bank’s Main Street Waterville branch offers a variety of places where customers and staff can consult and collaborate, including a homelike reception area and a dividable conference room.

The flexible space plan is designed to accommodate a range of banking preferences. This includes a dedicated island for traditional teller service, a surfboard-shaped media bar with self-service tablets and a large touch screen, and both open and enclosed offices. The team used Virtual Reality to refine every aspect of the design, from furniture and lighting to wall coverings to environmental graphics. The result is a harmonious combination of colors, fabrics, textures, furnishings and messaging that work together to enhance Camden National’s customer-centered brand, creating a convenient community resource where banking is a pleasure.
