Temple Beth El Entry Renovation

Portland, Maine

Location(s): Portland, Maine

Client: Temple Beth El

Contractor: Great Falls Construction

WBRC partnered with Temple Beth El and Levey Day School to renovate the primary building entrance, improving accessibility, functionality, and the overall visitor experience for this important community asset. The project transformed the existing entry by replacing outdated doors, glazing, and glass block with a contemporary aluminum storefront system. The upgraded entrance modernizes the building’s appearance while enhancing performance, durability, and ease of use.

Increased transparency and natural daylight create a brighter, more welcoming lobby, while fully accessible design features improve access for students, staff, congregants, and visitors.  Throughout the project, WBRC worked closely with the owner and local officials to successfully navigate the City of Portland’s rigorous permitting and review process, helping move the project efficiently from design through construction. The result is an inviting and modern entry experience – one that strengthens the building’s role as a valued community resource while providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming arrival experience for all who enter.
