WBRC was hired by Toss Solutions to assist in the fast-track design production of the Diamond Jubilee Cruise Terminal in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The two-story terminal, located just south of the city’s Marco Polo Cruise Terminal, is named in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee year. Designed by Toss Solutions and Dillon Consulting for the Saint John Port Authority, the facility accommodates 340-meter ships.
The exterior and site design synergizes with neighboring buildings and Saint John’s architectural heritage, while the interiors provide a fresh, contemporary setting for travelers, painted in vibrant orange and blue, and treated acoustically to dampen the noise of embarking and disembarking passengers. The second level includes a conference room and outdoor patio that can be rented for events.
WBRC’s ability to assist Toss Solutions with this exciting project was a rewarding testimony to the power of modern technology, as well as to the synergistic combination of assets among two firms in two nations.
